The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has put additional stress on all of our students and families. Some of our students and families are also experiencing trauma from family illness, death, or loss of income. We recognize that as a public institution, our schools do not have the resources they need to address the systemic barriers that limit access to equitable opportunities for all of our students. This can significantly impact the learning of some of our most vulnerable students. Our work for our students has never been more critical and while much has changed and challenged us this year, the needs of our students have only increased.
In response to the continued stress of we are working to support current and emerging needs for educational learning resources along with traditional programs such as:
- Classroom and individual academic support
- Social-Emotional Learning supports and materials for all students
- Teacher professional learning to support remote learning
- Supporting the food, personal hygiene, and clothing needs of our students
- Support for fine arts and music
- Robotics & STEAM Club funding
- Backpacks & school supplies for students in need.
Your support is crucial to our ability to continue our work. You generously fuel our ability to remain agile, which allows us to be most effective in providing what is needed for our kids.
The Kent Schools Foundation invites you to join us and other local businesses, community partners, families, and individuals in supporting #KSFGiving. At times, if it may feel as if nothing has gone just as we planned this year, we also see this as an opportunity to come together and support our students at unprecedented levels.
Kent Schools Foundation continues to serve one of the most diverse districts in the nation. We ask you to join us in celebrating this rich diversity. We are proud that our school community reflects the world. We acknowledge that to help every student grow and succeed, more than basic funding is necessary. Now more than ever, our schools need additional resources, and that’s where we come in, together.
$25.00 | A donation of $25 can support a KSD student and family’s nutrition during the week outside of their free and reduced breakfast and lunch meals that the school can provide.
$35.00 | Provide a new backpack filled with school supplies for one KSD student. Help ensure that every student has the supplies at home or in school they need to be successful.
$50.00 | Children grow at alarmingly fast rates. We will turn your $50 donation into a gift card that can be used for clothes and shoes at a local store that our families may otherwise not be able to provide for their growing students.
$145.00 | Now more than ever, our students need reliable access to the internet to ensure they can access live instruction and complete their assignments. The internet is also necessary to access health care, resources, and more. KSF has partnered with Comcast to help sponsor home internet for one year at the price of $145, including taxes and fees.
$500.00 | Fund a classroom grant for one of our teachers. The KSF Classroom Enrichment Grant program is to fund projects such as art, music, STEM, reading, field trips, and unique experiences that enrich student learning in the classroom. Grants help teachers amplify and reinforce their daily curriculum with innovative projects that reach students at their level. During 2019, nearly $20,000 in grants were awarded to schools across the district.
$____ | Other amount to meet the needs of KSD students. Your support, in any amount, is crucial to our ability to continue our work. You generously fuel our ability to remain agile, which allows us to be most effective in providing what is needed for our kids.
