Five Ways We Make a Difference
KSF operates five core program areas, each designed to address a different dimension of student enrichment in the Kent School District.
Classroom Enrichment Grants
Funding for innovative classroom projects in art, music, STEM, reading, social-emotional learning, and more. These grants help educators bring new ideas and experiences to life for their students — going beyond what district budgets can cover.
Social & Emotional Learning
Programs and resources that support the mental, emotional, and social well-being of students at all grade levels. KSF believes that students learn best when they feel safe, connected, and supported — and we fund the programs that make that possible.
STEAM Initiatives
Support for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math projects that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity. KSF-funded STEAM initiatives have helped students from elementary through high school discover the joy of building, experimenting, and creating.
Beyond the Classroom Experiences
Funding for field trips, cultural events, and enrichment activities that broaden students' horizons and connect learning to the real world. These experiences spark curiosity and help students see themselves as part of something bigger than the classroom.
Arts Opportunities
Expanding access to music, theater, visual arts, and other creative programs — both during and after school. Arts funding from KSF has helped launch ukulele clubs, funded artist residencies, and supported performances that students and families remember for years.
